It’s been an awesome stretch run for the Air Free Run X3, beginning with the Premio release last year and ending with the sick Ray Allen PE that dropped in uber-limited numbers not long ago. Although we’ve had our fill of Air Free Run X3 Nike Free 4.0 V3 releases to last us for a while, here’s a look at an unreleased promo sample made just for Michael Free Run – the tonal-white Silver Ann5ersary colorway that was part of the ‘traveling’ Silver Ann5ersary Air Free Run showcase that made its rounds in 2010. These Air Free Run X3s feature a full leather construction with metallic silver Nike Free Run 3.0 V5 on the traction pods on the outsole with a silver trim on the upper logo detailing. Now that the 25th Ann5ersary of the Air Free Run shoe has passed, a release of any of these tonal-white Silver Ann5ersary colorway will likely not happen, so take a good look at this rare promo sample below and let us know what you think. via DaClosetCollector.

These new images of the white/black colorway shed light on the specific details of the 2011, like the breathable mesh window on the upper ankle, the traction pattern on the outsole, and the molded leather and perforations on the upper. The Air Free Run 2 (2) joined the crowded Retro party this year, but there’s always room for an original colorway. The white/red/black Air Free Nike Free Run 3.0 V4 Run 2 was the first Free Run Legacy that boldly shed the Nike swoosh and relied solely on the Air Free Run name, and it surely did not disappoint, as Michael Free Run went on to win his first NBA Slam Dunk Competition with this shoe. The Silver Ann5ersary Air Free Run 2 was first to drop in 2010, followed by the BIN23 Free Run 2, but the OG is prepared for a release next Saturday, May 22nd. Back in elementary school it may have been acceptable to break your sweetie off with some heart shaped candies, but if you’re past that stage then you need to step your gift game up. Enter the New Balance 996 ‘Valentines Day’, a red suede pair of kicks that has all the right detailing for that special day in February. The aforementioned red is an obvious choice, but in addition to that there are the heart shaped lacelocks and eyelets, as well as a graphic insole with more Cupid-approved details. It seems Nike Free 4.0 V3 like the Black/Gold colorway seen in the Nike/Free Run/Nike Black History Month will carry over to a few Nike Sportswear released for February as well. Sneaker News recently showed you the Air Max 24/7 in Black/Metallic Gold, so here’s a look at a Women’s Air Force 1 Low colorway following the similar motif; it features a black synthetic leather upper with a metallic gold swoosh and lace dubrae. The story behind the Black/Gold Black History Month 2011 colorway is that the black color represents the color of basketball shoes worn by black basketball players in the 60′s, while the gold represents glory and success of its people. The latest Nike Air Classic BW has some definite World Cup implications.  The Nike Sportswear S6.0 Collection saw Brazilian artist Nunca opt for black for his part of the capsule, leaving white/green/yellow for South African artist Kronk to employ.  Kronk’s Air BW Gen 2s already released with a simple white/green look, so this new pair with healthy portions of yellow has its own vibe.  Sorta half-Kronk/half-Nunca with it’s use of black instead of the traditional blue, Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 these Big Windows are available from Kicks-Crew.

We all attribute the ‘South Beach’ colorway to the LeBron 8, but it Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 was Dwyane Wade who resided in Miami since 2003. Wade’s name came out unscathed during last offseason’s ‘Decision’ which involved the three superstars secretly communicating an agreement to form a super-team and win multiple championships while partying with P. Diddy and Nike Free 4.0 V2 Rick Ross on the beach. Although they didn’t win a championship, Wade & Crew are still partying in the offseason, with Wade recently being spotted with the Free Run Fly Wade South Beach during a charity event he threw. You too can party like Wade (well, with the shoes at least) because they’re officially dropping this Saturday at select Free Run Brand retailers. Certain kicks demand too high a pricepoint so some have Nike Free 4.0 V2 to resort to a “poor man’s” version of the shoe; the SB Dunk Tiffany is surely one of the more coveted shoes of this decade but we’ve yet to see anything truly close to the colorway. Recently a grade-school pair of the Nike Dunk High released that incited a few to name it the ‘Un-Tiffany’ Dunk High, and this new men’s Dunk High release could get that same treatment. No croc-skin pattern or patent leather, but the colorway is somewhat close, as the black upper is combined with glass blue resulting a nice take on the classic Dunk High. Seems Supra has shifted from color and otherwise themed pack releases into trios that honor their crew of pro skaters. It started last week with three each from Tom Penny’s Bandit midtop and Chad Muska’s Skytop 3, and now to a guy with a persona so nontraditional that his pack sounds like a shoutout to Godzilla movies. Mike ‘The Lizard King’ Plumb‘s Supra Bullet collection includes three new pairs, two of which l5e up to their name with bright green g5ing off a reptillian appearance. The other is like Penny’s pack in the sense that it could be seen as another ‘Black & Yellow’ drop, and all three of these are available now directly from Supra.

Nike Skateboarding might run into some legal issues if they tried to explicitly market this release as a ‘Quickstrike’, but there’s no doubting the similarities shared between their latest drop and some of Nike SB’s highlights Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 from the past decade.  The Nike Skate Busenitz is pictured above in a special ‘Bluesnitz’ colorup that pairs a watery suede upper with a gum sole and just a hint of yellow, and will only be distributed at core skate shops.  They also come with a special sticker pack that features a variety of icons in Nike’ traditional royal blue, and you’ll find them available now at MIA.

Nike Consortium is wiping the slate clean and opting for a fresh start in late 2011.  Will the collection return to its namesake form and collaborate extens5ely with the hottest names from fashion and art, or will Three Stripes keep their in-house brain trust occupied with pumping out new creations?  If the latter proves to be true, we’re all in for a treat because the Nike Consortium ‘Tabula Rasa’ f5e-pack comes with no ‘x’es or extra names, but they are indeed among the season’s standout releases.  The Nike Originals Decade, Baltic, Matchplay and Pro Shell are immaculate in white suede with leather trim, both of which show off their apparent quality in a series of closeup images awaiting your click on the jump below.  Let us know which model you like best and stick with Sneaker News for the US release dates.

Two Air Free Run 3 releases on consecut5e weekends? Are we dreaming? On Black Friday, Free Run Brand will release the Air Free Run 3 ‘Black/Cement’, the final Air Free Run 3 ‘OG colorway’ release of 2011. In Europe, that release will be immediately followed by the drop of the Black Flip 3. The Black Flips revisit the 2007 release of the original ‘Flip’, which first introduced the inverse blocking Nike Free Run 3.0 of the elephant print, and the verdict regarding which of the Flips is the better version is still up in the air. Free Run Brand release dates in Europe aren’t exactly the same for the U.S., as they typically fall within two weeks (before or after) the U.S. set release date, but our Euro readers should be advised that these will be available on December 3rd on your side. Nike Originals and Nike Sportswear are comparable heritage labels of the world’s leading athletic brands, but while the latter has been hybridizing and upgrading every classic model they can get their hands on, the former has been more apt to offer subtle design variations or simply new colorways.  But Three Stripes has crossed over into NSW territory here, the Nike Originals Forum Crazy Light pretty similar to something like the Nike Dunk High Hyperfuse.  Both are ’80s-born basketball hightops that have seen their iconic vamps altered to accommodate a breathable, lightweight heat-sealed material (SprintWeb in this case), and you know coming from Three Stripes the Forum Crazy Light had to drop in some insane palettes.  Click through to see more of the neon/grey, purple/orange and A.039-style black/royal and let us know which pair is your favorite, and be sure to stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release date.  via Kenlu

Nate Robinson‘s been at the forefront of the NBA sneaker-game ever since he entered the league in 2005 as a late first-round pick from the Knicks (via the Suns). Nate’s been known to wear some heat during his college days, but his sneaker-fame in the NBA is solely due to his rising up the ranks – literally – by dunking over anyone with a pulse and capturing the hearts of the undersized around the globe. During his time with the Knicks and the Celtics, Nate Robinson has gone against the team-sneaker trend and has worn some notable kicks like the Zoom LeBron 5 ‘Birthday’, the Altitude X3 (long before the 2010 version was even confirmed), and a number of Nike Free Trainer 3.0 other Free Run Retros, but in this latest Nike Free Powerlines twitter video, Nate Robinson sheds light on one of his favorite sneakers – the Nike Air Max 1. New Balance released a new 574 right around the turn of the year whose navy, gold and gum colorway coupled with corded laces offered clear visual evidence of their trail boot inspiration.  There’s another navy blue suede New Balance 574 coming up for spring that also uses a rugged boot for its muse, but the effect is entirely different thanks to a couple of key details.  These new NB574s lack the gridding that’s synonymous with hiking gear, and their traditional flat laces have these looking more like a nondescript premium take on this classic runner than any overt boot sendup.  But Nike Free Run 3.0 V2 each pair offers its own take on a rich build you can count on everyday just like a good pair of steel toes, and you can see more of the navy pair in addition to brown, black and grey joints after the jump.  Let us know which pair comes off best and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.  via FNG

Wale’s recent Celebrity Feet sightings featured the D.C. rapper reaching back into his closet for some older gems like the Air Max LeBron V2 ‘Christ The King’ and the recently released Solar Red LeBron 8 V/2 Lows. Much has changed in Dwight’s life over the last few months as his career path began Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 to take a different route – eerily similar to that of Shaquille O’neal, who like Howard, started his career in Orlando and made his way to the Left Coast and joined the Lakers. A steady stream of great releases is what’s been coming out of the PRO-Keds camp as of late, so while we eagerly wait for the release of the DJ Jazzy Jeff x PRO-Keds 69er capsule, we’re getting hit something a bit sooner as J.Crew teams up with PRO-Keds for a late-May release. PRO-Keds will reintroduce the Royal Master DK to the U.S. market after being a Japan exclusive for a period of time, and combined with J.Crew’s sublime grasp of Americana fashion, the resultant effort is one of the cleanest sneaker releases of the year, arriving at the season that demands casual appeal without compromising distinct style (a formula that PRO-Keds hasn’t missed for decades). Built with full-grain premium leather and based on an antique white midsole, these fit the bill for even the most pickiest of footwear choosers. Ronnie Fieg’s retail output with Asics has stayed pretty close to the Gel-equipped lineup of sneakers, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t put his hands on some other tiger striped models during his time in the footwear business.
